IRUPPU FALLS- A FALL WITH BEAUTY

IRUPPU FALLS

Along with my friends of Kasaragod, visited the enchanting and exciting Iruppu falls in the Brahmagiri hills of Karnataka District. The water fall is situating about 48 km from Virajpet. Through the scenic beauty of the Wynad , you can reach the mesmerizing water falls and the river water scrolling down the hills with an uneven speed along with the surrounding vegetation and wildlife providing some scintillating natural scenery. The Falls are also known as the Lakshmana Tirtha Falls. The dual name derived from Laxmana Tirtha river from where it originating.

The Rameswara Temple of Irupu lying in the riverside of Laxmana Tirtha and it attracting a number of pilgrims and tourists in and around the nation. The Forest in which the famous water fall situating is the property of the temple. According to legend, Ram and Lakshman passed this way while searching for Sita. Ram asked Lakshman to bring him some drinking water since he was very tired. Being a polite brother Lakshman shot an arrow into the Brahmagiri, and the brahmagiri hills shower his blessings on him and gave the sparkling pure water.

The travel to Iruppu Falls provides ample space for picnic. Moreover, you can also get a feeling of trekking while walking through the muddy forest cover. There is a small hanging bridge adjoining the Rameshwara temple and Iruppu falls. A simple walk from Rameswara Temple to the Iruppu Falls and finally a good bath beneath the water fall will provide a heavenly effect to the travelers. I am sure, while once you visited this site , the moments you spend here will never fade from your memory.

With love and regards
